SCOOTIN' ON BY
15H 2003 BLACK AND WHITE SSHBEA GELDING
We
started Scooter under saddle about a year and a half ago. He has been a
real pleasure to work with and watch develop. Although his training
sessions were sometimes sporadic, I never had to start over on a
training session or maneuver. He always picked up right where we left
off, no matter how long the layoff.
Last fall he garnished a lot more riding time and has become a real “go
anywhere” type of trail horse. We’ve been able to subject him to some
pretty challenging situations and he’s handled them like a seasoned
veteran. He’s been used to pony colts and instill confidence in timid
riders out for a visit.
He is easy to catch, load, haul, and shoe. He’s extremely soft mouthed
and sensitive to leg pressure. He parks out and will stand by a mounting
block, picnic table, muck bucket, tree stump or anything else that helps
the mounting process. He neckreins, sidepasses, two tracks, and performs
front quarter and hind quarter turns. He has a real nice running walk,
but will drop his head and quietly adjust his pace when riding with
stock horses. One word describes Scooter – MELLOW!!
If you are looking for a Cadillac ride as well as an “in your pocket”
type of equine partner that will provide years of pleasurable hours on
the trail, Scooter might just be the one. He’s up to date on Coggins,
worming, vaccinations and hoof care. He’s ready to make this riding
season the best ever!
